An All-Knowing God Brings Hope!

Do you believe that God is all knowing? How does that affect your decision making? Do you try to avoid situations that may cause you to do something wrong? Do you try to be on best behavior all the time? Do you think by being “good” God will not see your wrong behavior? Do you believe that God cannot see your behavior because there are just too many people so He cannot possibly know everything that you do? Let me tell you what God has told me about how He brings hope because He know everything.

He taught me that He does know everything. By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him; for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.” 1 John 3:19-22 (ESV) John tells me here that my heart is the key to self-condemnation and self-righteousness. But he also says that God is greater than our heart because He knows everything. King David explains this concept in Psalms 139. Then again in Hebrews 4:13, “And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” (ESV)

He then taught me that because I am a believer He will not remember my transgressions.  “For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” Hebrews 8:12 (ESV) which is reinforced by Psalms 103:12, “As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.” (ESV) Because of that He gives me hope. Romans 5:5, “And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” (ESV)

I have hope because God knows everything, and it is part of His plan. Even though God knows all the bad things I have done and will do He still chooses not to remember them because I have been forgiven of my transgressions because of the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ on the cross that paid for my sins. Jesus’ death and resurrection can also pay for your transgressions and God will remember them no more if you believe in Jesus’ death and resurrection for the forgiveness of your sins.

We need to be confident that God knows everything past present and future. Because he knows everything, He knows that mankind needs a Savior. Because God loves us so much, He sent His Son Jesus that we might have eternal life.   In doing so you will find the only true source of hope. Remember though that all sin is forgivable except the sin of unbelieve in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on the cross satisfied the penalty for my sins and yours as well. It satisfied all my sins from the past, in the present, and in the future. My penalty and yours were satisfied on the cross by the death of Jesus, God’s greatest act of love and wrath, who became sin for me and you. It was also God’s greatest act of faithfulness because “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (ESV) Because wisdom shows us, we need to believe in Jesus. I hope that you join me in helping others to choose Jesus.
