Do you worry about things? I hate to admit it but I do at times. What do you worry about, is it money, health, friends, your children or grandchildren, work, or something else? Has worrying about things made a difference? It has not for me. Do you worry because you are not allowing God to help you out? Do you worry because you do not trust God? Why do you think worry destroys hope? Let’s look at how God has taught me how a new day brings hope.
I have found God wants me to trust Him and when I am worrying about something it is because I I am not trusting God with it. When I am taking control of my own life and my own situations, I’m trying to be my own god. Jesus said, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?” Matthew 6:25. (ESV) He goes on to give reasons see Matthew 6:25-34. Jesus tells me that I should not worry about food, clothing, or time. I am not to worry about food because God feeds the birds. I am not to worry about time because I cannot add even an hour to my life span. I am not to worry about clothes because God will even clothe me.
God has told me that I should not worry because He is in control of all things, and He will provide when I seek Him first. “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:34-35 God taught me, even though I struggle at times to follow His instructions, to cast all my cares upon Him. “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 (ESV)
The Apostle Paul tells me in Philippians 4:6-7 the way to not worry is to pray and be thankful to God because He will provide. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (ESV) When I trust in God, I have peace and hope for the future.
I pray you will turn your worries over to God and allow him to take care of them. God promise us that He will take our worries away and we can always trust in His promises. The Almighty God of the Universe has given you afresh new day every day He allows us to start a new. He is there to forgive and forget because He is the one who cares for you no matter the situation and is the only way to truly start anew in this there is true hope. Understanding that Jesus is the only source of true hope. The death of Jesus Christ on the cross satisfied the penalty for my sins and yours as well. It satisfied all my sins from the past, in the present and in the future. My penalty and yours was satisfied on the cross by the death of Jesus, God’s greatest act of love and wrath, who became sin for me and you. It was also God’s greatest act of faithfulness because “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (ESV) Because wisdom shows us, we need to believe in Jesus. I hope that you join me in helping others to choose Jesus.
