Have you ever needed care from someone? I have. Have you ever needed to care for someone else. I have. What are the reasons we would need care from someone else? Who do you turn to for care? Let me share with you what I learned about how a caring God brings hope.
I have often needed someone to care for me and I am sure you did as well. When I was little, I needed my parents to care for me. I needed to be fed. I needed diapers changed. I needed to be loved. I needed to be held. The list could probably go on and on. I believe though that all that caring came about because God cared for me. He cares for me, and He provided earthly caregivers in my life. This was good and very important.
I also believe though that God cares for me Himself. 1Peter 5;7 says, “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” (ESV) When I am tired and need rest God cares for me. “Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” Matthew 11:28 (ESV) He cares about my physical needs, “But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?” Matthew 6:30 (ESV)
Most importantly God cares about my spiritual needs. The Apostle John says, “In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” 1 John 4:9-10 (ESV) It is by Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross that God showed that He abundantly cared for me. He gave me a path to eternal life. If you have not yet walked down the path to eternal life, I would invite you to start now. It is not too late, and you will never regret making the choice to follow Jesus.
I pray you that you will embrace the care God is providing for you today. Placing yourself in His caring arms is a safe place to be. God cares so much for you, even in your relationship with God through Jesus, helps change you. It is that relationship that solves the problem of sin and brings us hope in the present and the future. I would also encourage you to seek Jesus for He is the only opportunity there is to have eternal life. This is to me the greatest source of hope. In doing so, I believe we will have hope and joy in our everyday lives. Understanding how Jesus Christ grants us access to eternal life, allows us to live in hope. “And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” John 17:3 (ESV) At the same time understanding you will live eternally knowing the only true God and Jesus Christ will also bring you the greatest hope. Because of the death of Jesus Christ on the cross satisfied the penalty for sins. His payment satisfies all my sins from the past, the present and in the future. My penalty and yours was satisfied on the cross by the death of Jesus, God’s greatest act of love and wrath, who became sin for me and you. It was also God’s greatest act of faithfulness because “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (ESV) Because holiness shows us, we need to believe in Jesus. I hope that you join me in helping others to choose Jesus.
