Wisdom Leads to Hope!
Do you ever wish that you were wiser? I do. Do you lack wisdom in certain areas? I do. How do you seek to have wisdom? Has it worked for you? If it has not, do you know where to look for wisdom? I have found there is only one true source of wisdom. Would you like to join me in the search for wisdom?
When I first started to search for wisdom I looked to see if there was a source for wisdom. The Holy Bible tells me there is. It says the source of all wisdom is in God. Psalms 104:24 it says, “O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.” (ESV)
I clearly see God is the creator of all things including me and you. The Bible shows me that He created all things in wisdom. It was His wisdom that was used to create us. I believe that in His creative act he also taught us how to learn wisdom from Him. The problem is it requires us to seek and work to gain wisdom. It is not as easy as Paul says, “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!” Romans 11:23 (ESV)
The work to receive wisdom is not hard, yet it is diligent work. It starts very simply with a prayer. When I lack wisdom, I must first ask God for it. As James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.” James 3:17 (ESV) This is the wisdom we want, so now, what’s next?
Now that I know what the first step is the rest follows. I must fear God. This is a fear that understands how truly awesome God is! It is seeking to understand all of who He is including His great love and His powerful wrath, as well as all of His other attributes. Proverb 1:7 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (ESV)
Next, I need to listen and accept. Proverbs 19:20 says, “Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.” (ESV)
Then I must apply wisdom in my life by understanding what the will of God is for my life. “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:15-17(ESV)
When I seek wisdom and graciously receive it from God, I experience a better life and that brings me hope.
So, join me in seeking true wisdom from God and receive hope from the hands of the only One who can give you true wisdom and hope He can make can make all things right. Have hope for yourself and give hope to others by living in God’s wisdom that He has bestowed upon us when we ask. The death of Jesus Christ on the cross satisfied the penalty for my sins and yours as well. It satisfied all my sins from the past, in the present and in the future, even my itching ears, and yours too. My penalty and yours was satisfied on the cross by the death of Jesus, God’s greatest act of love and wrath, who became sin for me and you. Because of that we ought to believe in Jesus. I hope that you join me in choosing Jesus.
