Deliverance Brings Hope!

Have you ever been in a situation where you felt like there was no way out? I have. Have you ever felt like you were trapped in an endless cycle? I have? Have you needed to be saved from your circumstance? I have. Well, if you are in this type of situation right now, I have exceptional news for you. There is a deliver ready and waiting for you.

God has been in the business of delivering people like me and like you. It started back when Noah was told to build an ark for the animals and for his immediate family so that they would be delivered from the pending flood. “But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. 19 And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ark to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.” (ESV) Genesis 6:1-18-19

Israel was delivered from Egypt where they were slaves. “But the Lord said to Moses, ‘Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for with a strong hand he will send them out, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.’” (ESV) Exodus 6:1 Throughout the Bible you find God delivering people. I know that he will deliver me as well.

King David said, “As for me, I am poor and needy, but the Lord takes thought for me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God!” (ESV) Psalms 40:17 Like king David God is there for those who believe and trust in Him. He is also there for those who do not willing and able to deliver you all you need to do is have faith in Him. I have found though that I need to accept His deliverance. He will never force it upon me.

Paul said in Philippians 1:18b-21, “Yes, and I will rejoice, for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance, as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death.  For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (ESV) Like Paul I have come to the same conclusion based on the same facts that Jesus has delivered me. I know that it will be great gain when it comes time for me to be called into the arms of my Lord and Savior until then I will attempt to live a life pleasing to Him because He has delivered me. My hope then comes from the deliverance that Christ Jesus provided for me upon the cross.

So, God’s deliverance is available to me and for you as well. The death of Jesus Christ on the cross satisfied the penalty for my sins and yours as well. It satisfied all my sins from the past, in the present and in the future and yours too. My penalty and yours was satisfied on the cross by the death of Jesus who became sin for me and you. This was God’s greatest showing of deliverance. It is this deliverance that brings hope. So, if we believe in Jesus All of our wrongs have been justified and forgiven. If not, you will face a final judgment. It is your choice. I hope that you choose Jesus.
