Freedom Brings Hope

Freedom Brings Hope!

Have you ever felt trapped? Are you current looking for a way to get out of a particular situation or relationship? Are you currently a captive of the devil? Is he constantly harassing you? Have you tried to escape but there has been no way out? How then can we get out of a situation that has trapped us? I believe that The Holy Bible provides solutions for being trapped. Shall we explore The Holy Bible together for answers?

The first thing I see in looking into God’s Word is that That we are set free by Jesus in order that we have freedom. That may seem strange but when you look at other verses in The Holy Bible we were once slaves to sin. We had to sin we were not free to live without sin we in a sense did not have a choice. “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” (ESV) Galatians 5:1 we are then to respond in a new way we had to look at ourselves as being free no longer under the yoke of slavery to sin.

In our new found freedom and since all of our sins were forgiven all things became lawful. However, that does not mean that all things are good for me. It also means that we are no longer dominated by anything we are no longer dominated by an obsession to do something that is a sin. ‘“All things are lawful for me,’ but not all things are helpful. ‘All things are lawful for me,’ but I will not be dominated by anything.” (ESV) 1 Corinthians 6:12

Paul continues his theme of not using our new found freedom to do fleshly things. Rather because of our new found freedom we can do good things for by lovingly serving one another “For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” (ESV) Galatians 5: 13

Paul again warns us that we now have a new master. We are free from sin but we now have a better master, one who gives us hope in things to come, God. That hope of course is satisfaction which ultimately leads to eternal life. “But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.” (ESV) Romans 6:22

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (ESV)John 8:36 Our freedom is dependent upon a relationship with Jesus Christ. If you do not know Jesus the true source of hope does not abide in you. Learn how to get the hope you need. Learn how to know Jesus
