Do you want something in your life to change? I do. Do you want to change something about who you are? I do not now but I did. Do want someone in your life to change? I did but she did not and noe=w she no longer can. Do you want somethings to never change? How do you think change brings you Hope? Let me tell you what God has told me about how change bring hope.
I went through a long period of time when I wanted my life to change it was because my wife was very ill and I wanted her to get better she did and did not get better. She got better because her God never changes, and she is now with Him in heaven. She did not get better in that she chose to end her own life.
I found a long time ago as did my wife that we needed to change. The good news is that God has a plan for us to change. His plan is simple and easy to accomplish because He does all the work, we just needed to accept it. My God who never changes promise me that if I would accept His free gift that I would change. I would become a new creation. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)
I have also found that God wants me to continue to change for my whole life. The Apostle Paul tells me how I am to do it in Romans 12:1-2, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (ESV) I believe that God changes me when I present myself to Him in this way.
I believe He changes us into a more perfect person by using our circumstance either good or bad. But it is clear to me that He changes me through the bad times. James says, “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-4 (ESV) it is through this change that I have hope. Hope for a better me and hope ultimately for a eternally better life
I pray that you change only if you need to but that you will embrace the God who never changes. After all, “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8 (ESV) It is this forgiveness that brings me hope and it is in granting others forgiveness we know for certain that we too are forgiven. The knowledge of being forgiven brings me hope. Remember though that all sin is forgivable except the sin of unbelieve in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on the cross satisfied the penalty for my sins and yours as well. It satisfied all my sins from the past, in the present, and in the future. My penalty and yours were satisfied on the cross by the death of Jesus, God’s greatest act of love and wrath, who became sin for me and you. It was also God’s greatest act of faithfulness because “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (ESV) Because wisdom shows us, we need to believe in Jesus. I hope that you join me in helping others to choose Jesus.
