Drawing Lines Brings Hope!

Do you draw lines? Lines that you will not cross. Why do you draw lines? Maybe you draw a line on how much you will eat. Maybe you draw a line on how fast you will drive. Maybe you draw a line on how much you will work. Do you draw lines for others? Lines for your children. Lines for your spouse. Do you draw lines on what you will compromise? After you have established a line do you ever cross it? Let me tell you what God has told me about how drawing lines bring hope.

God has taught me a lot about drawing a line and not to cross it. I have learned a lot about drawing lines from the Book of Daniel. So, the first six chapters of Danial are stories of Daniel and his friends refusing to cross a line. In Daniel 1 would not eat from the king’s table. what he would eat. Daniel 2 he does not rely on his own understanding but seeks God’s wisdom and understanding. Daniel 3, Daniel and his friends refuse to worship the King. They survive the fiery furnace. Daniel 4 and 5, Daniel again refuses to use his own understanding but rather seeks wisdom and understanding from God. In Daniel 6, Daniel refuse to stop praying to God. He survived the lion’s den. Every time Daniel and His friends refused to cross a line. God blessed them and protected them. I believe that God will do the same for me and for you>

I am learning to draw a line and where to draw them. The lines I am learning to draw are based upon the precepts and principles in the Bible. I am learning to listen to my conscience, so I do not yield to temptations. I have a long time ago have decided that the Bible is the Word of God, and it is authoritative. As I approach the election this fall, I have chosen to vote for a person based on lines that I do not believe should ever been crossed. Pastor Troy Dobbs, Grace Church Eden Prairie message a few weeks ago inspired this blog. I suggest you listen to it.

I pray that you will join me in drawing lines in your life. Lines that we will never cross because as we keep to our convictions, we have hope. Remember though that all sin is forgivable except the sin of unbelieve in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on the cross satisfied the penalty for my sins and yours as well. It satisfied all my sins from the past, in the present, and in the future. My penalty and yours were satisfied on the cross by the death of Jesus, God’s greatest act of love and wrath, who became sin for me and you. It was also God’s greatest act of faithfulness because “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (ESV) Because wisdom shows us, we need to believe in Jesus. I hope that you join me in helping others to choose Jesus.
