Change Brings Hope!

Do you need a change in your life? I do. Do you need something to happen in your life to radically change things? I do. Is change always good? Well, depending on the perspective, change can be good or bad. Let me share with you what I learned about how change brings hope.

I find it very interesting that change is something I believe we must accept, because God never changes. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 (ESV) So, when I am not in line with God it is not God who is going to change to realign with me but it is I that must change. Change can come in many forms. It can come with new relationships, new locations, new jobs, new members in the family, or new friends. You get the picture.

Change comes for different reasons. It can come to get your attention. This change is generally in my experience, something that I would not consider good. However, I have found that for me this kind of change is when my relationship with God grows because I must depend on Him. I also believe this kind of change is promised by God, “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-4 (ESV) It can come to reignite your faith, something good or bad happens that causes you to get closer to God. It can bring restoration to you from previous losses, like Job. “And the Lord restored the fortunes of Job, when he had prayed for his friends. And the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.” Job 41:10 (ESV) It can come to confirm your faith. This occurs when I ask for change. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 (ESV) But most important, change occurred when I accepted Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior. I became a new creation and I needed to respond by doing as Paul says in Romans 12:1-2, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” (ESV) You to can experience this kind of change by accepting Jesus.

I believe true hope only comes from God and I believe God uses change in my life to bring me hope. I hope you want to a change in your life like I want change to occur in my life. If you do let us change together for the glory of God and for His glory alone.

I pray you that you will embrace change in your life. Your relationship with God through Jesus, changes you. It is that relationship that solves the problem of sin and brings us hope in the present and the future. I would also encourage you to seek Jesusfor He is the only opportunity there is to have eternal life. This is to me the greatest source of hope. In doing so, I believe we will have hope and joy in our everyday lives. Understanding how Jesus Christ grants us access to eternal life, allows us to live in hope. “And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” John 17:3 (ESV) At the same time understanding you will live eternally knowing the only true God and Jesus Christ will also bring you the greatest hope. Because of the death of Jesus Christ on the cross satisfied the penalty for sins. His payment satisfies all my sins from the past, the present and in the future. My penalty and yours was satisfied on the cross by the death of Jesus, God’s greatest act of love and wrath, who became sin for me and you. It was also God’s greatest act of faithfulness because “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (ESV) Because holiness shows us, we need to believe in Jesus. I hope that you join me in helping others to choose Jesus.
