Are you afraid of something? Maybe it is a history of cancer in your family like me and therefore you have a greater chance to get it. Maybe it is that you will lose your life savings somehow like me. Maybe it is that your spouse will leave you by divorce or death like me. All these things are tragedies, but should they cause you to be afraid? Do you know how to live fearlessly? Let me tell you what God has told me about how fearlessness brings hope.
I have learned through my experience and through my trials that I need not fear because God has always been there for me. Sometimes I have not listened to Him or obeyed His Word but He has never left me. The Prophet Isaiah wrote, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)
I have also learned that fear is from within me it is not something that God has given. In fact it is just the opposite “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (ESV) I am also encouraged by God’s everlasting love for me and I know that His love is perfect and “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.” 1 John 4:18 (ESV)
Because I know Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior and because His perfect love He sacrificed Himself so that I have eternal life. You can as well. In this and in the sovereignty of God I have hope.
I pray that you choose to live fearlessly because you understand that no matter what is happening in your life God is in control and has the ability to lead you through it for your own good. I pray also that you will understand that we win in the end. Christ will be victorious, and we will have eternal life with him. The one that comes from the hand of God through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus. Remember though that all sin is forgivable except the sin of unbelieve in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on the cross satisfied the penalty for my sins and yours as well. It satisfied all my sins from the past, in the present, and in the future. My penalty and yours were satisfied on the cross by the death of Jesus, God’s greatest act of love and wrath, who became sin for me and you. It was also God’s greatest act of faithfulness because “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 (ESV) Because wisdom shows us, we need to believe in Jesus. I hope that you join me in helping others to choose Jesus.
